Taylor Huseman, the cyclist who survived being hit by a dump truck, powered his way to a national title recently, winning the USA Duathlon National Championship held two weeks ago in Greenville, South Carolina.

Huseman, a native of Manson, Iowa, and a graduate of the University of South Dakota, where he participated in track, cross country and jazz band, owns and operates Okoboji Expedition Company in the heart of the Iowa Great Lakes. When he's not running the business and overseeing a multitude of spinning classes, Huseman can be found running up and down Lakeshore Avenue and cycling all over the Dickinson County tourism mecca. (He's also played some alto sax with the Dig Bauman Big Band.)
