From the League of American Bicyclists...

Bike Month is an opportunity to celebrate the unique power of the bicycle and the many reasons we ride. Whether you bike to work or school; to save money or time; to preserve your health or the environment; to explore your community or get to your destination, get involved in Bike Month in your city or state —and help get more people in your community out riding too!

  • Nationally: Check the Bike Month events section often to see what Bike Month and Bike to Work Week events are going on in your community.

IOWA CITY / JOHNSON COUNTY

Bike to Work Week is supported by the cities of Coralville, Iowa City, and University Heights, Johnson County, and Think Bicycles of Johnson County.

Celebrating Cyclists during Bike Month 2019! After the long, cold slog of one of the worst Iowa winters in recent memory, it's time to celebrate the joy of riding a bicycle. From past years' commuter breakfasts to educational programs, from weekly rides to fix-it nights at our local community bike program, Bike Month has traditionally offered something for everyone.

Johnson County celebrates Bike Month in conjunction with the League of American Bicyclists. For more ideas on events, check out Pedalpalooza/Portland. You can view its website here: http://www.shift2bikes.org
