Join Scott from BIKEIOWA.com to hear about what's on his radar in the Iowa cycling scene this weekend. #FridayFives is a new series for Summer 2020 and we plan to share fun destinations, events and happenings each week.

For Week #10 it is:

1) ALL ABILITY CYCLES ON IOWA OUTDOORS
All Ability Cycles, LLC near the in Jefferson, Iowa services all bicycles, but they specialize in adaptive cycling solutions (including working hand in hand with Adaptive Sports Iowa). Check it out when on the RRVT (Raccoon River Valley Trail Association)!

The shop was recently featured on Iowa Outdoors on Iowa PBS.

2) IOWA CYCLOCROSS SERIES CANCELLED
First, half the cyclocross races in Iowa were cancelled. And now, the Iowa Cyclocross Series has been cancelled. Organizer Jacob Oyen says that it's just not right to encourage athletes to travel around the state chasing series points during a pandemic.

3) BIKE BASH IN LAKE VIEW
The Bike Bash in Lake View, Iowa along the Sauk Rail Trail scheduled for this weekend is officially cancelled, but… there is an unofficial “Fake Bash” ride happening on Saturday, July 25. It starts at noon at The Bar in Lake View. The route takes you to Carnarvon, Breda and then back to Lake View on the Sauk Rail Trail. The bars and campgrounds are ready for cyclists.

If you go, have fun and practice social distancing.

4) ANKENY YOUTH TRIATHLON
The 14th Annual Ankeny Youth Triathlon will happen on Saturday, July 25 at Cascade Falls Aquatic Center, Ankeny Ia and registration is closed.

There will be a long course for 11-14 year olds and a short course for 6-10 year olds.

The City of Ankeny - Government announced that Cascade Falls has been vandalized and there is broken glass in the pool - so 2020 Ankeny Youth Triathlon will utilize the lazy river for the swim portion of the event.

The show is part of the Revive the Live Drive in Concert Series designed to celebrate live music from a safe distance.

THAT’S IT FOR THIS WEEK ! You can find more information on all of these items by checking out https://bikeiowa.com/

And finally, it's still a pandemic. It's still important to SOCIAL DISTANCE!

If you've got any ideas for future Friday Fives, send us a message!
