The Le Mars City Council revisited a request from Wise I Brewing Company for an area in the alley at their business at 15 Second St. N.E., to be closed during RAGBRAI® on July 24. The space would be used for an outdoor service area.
Wise I is located just outside the boundary of the RAGBRAI beer garden area as designated by the RAGBRAI Committee and approved by the council.
At this time, city administration recommends the council approve the request. Since the original request was denied on May 18, conversations have continued to find a way to allow it. It was determined that this closure would not cause any added enforcement issues or emergency response issues due to it being immediately adjacent to the larger closed off area.
