Dozens of law enforcement and supporters took to the trails Saturday to remember fallen Sgt. Shawn Miller.
Participants of the Mustache Ride made the trip on the Raccoon River Valley Trail to raise money for the West Des Moines Police Department's Benevolent Association.
"Anything for our Benevolent Association is super important because we try to raise money for officers who have fallen," said Andre Owen, with the West Des Moines Police Department. The 26-year veteran of the West Des Moines Police Department was killed in the line of duty riding his motorcycle from a court appearance during the summer of 2016. A car turned in front of him near DeSoto killing him.
