The shine of last summer's RAGBAI celebration is off for some Warren County workers.
Warren County officials informed employees that the paid day off they were given when RAGBRAI riders came to Indianola will not be paid after all.
Ragbrai came to Indianola on July 23.
AFSCME, the union representing Warren County workers, said some workers were told they would have the day off with pay because of the bike ride.
In September, employees received an email saying the day off would instead be taken from their vacation time.
The county said they were treating RAGBRAI as a routine disruption, like a snowstorm.
