David Lorentz Schuldt was an 83-year-old Iowa City man riding his bicycle on Monday May 6th just south of Iowa City.
David Lorentz Schuldt was struck from behind by Shaena Elizabeth Beachy, 26, of Kalona, who said she couldn't move to the left to avoid Schuldt because of traffic in the adjacent lane and hit and killed him. (MORE INFO)
But David Lorentz Schuldt was so much more than an experienced cyclist.

Schuldt once raised thousands of dollars for the Wesley Foundation by riding his bike across the country.
Schuldt graduated from Clarion High School with Schuldt in 1954.
Schuldt began duties as a minister in 1965.
Schuldt's memorial service is scheduled for Monday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Visitation hours will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service.
