DMACC Urban Campus to open BCycle station

Des Moines Area Community College’s Urban Campus will celebrate the opening of the new Urban Campus BCycle Rental Station, funded by United Way of Central Iowa, on Monday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the south lawn of Building 1. The Urban Campus station will increase the transportation options for DMACC students, staff and faculty, said Anne Howsare, provost of the Urban Campus. “We are proud to be a part of the initiative and thankful that United Way of Central Iowa was able to provide funding for this project,” she said. The Monday event will feature concessions with hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn. Activities will include bike rides, a BCycle monthly pass giveaway and a Des Moines Bicycle Collective information booth.
