Neal Smith Trail Renovation

The Neal Smith Trail Renovation project will begin May 2 and last approx. 1 month.

Yes, May is Bike Month, but this section of the Neal Smith Trail between Euclid Avenue and Birdland Drive is very rough and will be a great new trail segment when completed!

See 'alternate route' map below. It is a very rideable detour.

* BONUS * - a New trail connection from McHenry Park Trail to the Inter-Urban Trail "may" be completed before the Neal Smith Trail is closed, but this is all weather dependent.

Trail still open this morning, but sign still says closing 6/20.

I noticed that they have delayed the closing back again to May 23 and are also grading between Inter-Urban and Riverview. I heard from one of the guys doing the surveys that it will be crushed gravel, not paved. Still better than taking Euclid.
