This Saturday evening's (2/20/16) Raccoon River Valley Trail Association banquet should also be a celebration of the 10th anniversary of this non-profit group of volunteers.

The association has raised & spent more than $300,000 in advertising, marketing and promoting this fantastic 89-mile paved trail in west central Iowa, and that has helped make it a major driver of economic development and tourism in the region.

Chuck Offenburger, one of the founders, writes a reflection here of how the association started, what it has done, and why you should get involved now. Get that right here: http://bit.ly/1ok8qDk.

Those attending the banquet Saturday will hear featured speaker Lisa Hein, one of Iowa's foremost trails experts, tell how Iowa's rec trails were developed and what the future holds.

BIKEIOWA NOTE: The Raccoon River Valley Trail Association has been a long-time sponsor and partner of BIKEIOWA. We congratulate Chuck, Carla, the board members and the hundreds of volunteers who made this one of the premier trails in the USA!
