Are motorists driving too fast down your street? Report them. Des Moines police are trying to make the complaint process as easy as possible. Officers will announce a new hot line number at a press conference today. "Citizens will be able to call (515) 271-4655 and leave voice mail messages of specific traffic complaints 24 hours a day, seven days a week," police said in a press release. The complaints will be assigned to an officer. If the person reporting the complaint wants to leave a name and phone number, the officer will call back and report what action was taken. The intent of this new hot line is to provide an easy way for the citizens to contact the police department and express concerns, police said.
