"Romeo's on the River" opens on November 1, 2005. "Romeo's on the River," a new restaurant located near downtown Des Moines, opened on November 1, 2005. The restaurant is located at 1300 SE 1st Street, across from the Principal Park Stadium, south of the Raccoon River. This is Des Moines' ONLY restaurant on the river's edge, and Romeo's boasts an incredible view of the City skyline, including the Capitol. Open for lunch and dinner, Romeo's menu features delicious dishes including pizza, steaks, sandwiches, soup, salads, and Italian desserts to name a few. Specialty appetizers including Italian nacho's are sure to be favorites. The public is invited to a Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Wednesday, November 16, 2005 from 5 to 7 p.m., featuring discounted drinks and free appetizers. "Romeo's on the River" is located a few steps from the Meredith Trail and newly renovated pedestrian bridge. Restauranteur Joseph Romeo adds "in the spring an outdoor patio will be opened along with a concession on the trail and bicycle rentals.
