Des Moines IMT Marathon Volunteers needed

Cyclists - You can help out with a cool event downtown! The 2005 Des Moines IMT Marathon and Half Marathon will be held on Sunday, September 18th. We are excited to bring this event to the athletes and community for a fourth consecutive year! The event has been praised by its participants, the local community and running organizations across the country. We are expecting over 2,500 athletes and their friends and family to participate in the activities associated with the marathon and half marathon. In addition to the running events, we have a Health and Fitness Expo at Capital Square, bands playing at Nollen Plaza and pre-race pasta dinners hosted at restaurants throughout the area.

To put on an event the size of ours, we rely heavily on the efforts of volunteers. Our volunteer needs are listed on our website. Once at our website, Click on Volunteer and you'll see a complete list. Just to name a few, we need help setting up and tearing down the course and the expo, help directing the athletes along the course, and assistance with registration and packet pick up. The athletes appreciate the support of volunteers and I guarantee you'll have a rewarding experience. Plus, you get a free t-shirt! Include your name, email address, t-shirt size, when you'd like to volunteer and what activities you'd like to help with.
