Ankeny wants to brighten up and redevelop a large stretch of one of the city's main streets.
The city in March publicly released details of a revitalization plan for South Ankeny Boulevard from First Street to Oralabor Road. That plan could guide more mixed-use development that complements the High Trestle Trail, as well as more multi-family housing.
The South Ankeny Boulevard corridor is primarily lined with commercial and light industrial properties, and undeveloped land, with much of the frontage north of the High Trestle Trail surrounded by single-family homes.
