Mullets becomes a BIKEIOWA Sponsor

Mullets is one the most bicycle-friendly bar and restaurants in Des Moines and probably the whole state of Iowa. BIKEIOWA is super-excited to have them come onboard as a sponsor. We've been hitting Mullets since it opened in June 2010.

The Mullet became wildly popular in the mid to late 1980s

Mullets has almost perfect placement as it resides right on the Meredith Trail, and is at the end of the pedestrian bridge over the Des Moines river which is a hub for cyclists to get back and forth over the river.

Many stop for the ice-cold beer, the awesome food and stop stop, just for the great view of the Des Moines skyline from the second level deck.

You want a great and hearty breakfast? Look no further. Mullets is a main staple for breakfast for all types of cyclists before they hit the Farmer's Market, go on a long ride, or just merely ride down the trail. Our favorite is the jalepeno bacon... or is it the breakfast burrito??

The greenspace at Mullets has been used for several events such as the Urban Assault Ride, Oakley Night Cap Cross, Race Like a Girl, Snowshoe races, BBQs, and many more events. Bands play outside all through the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. The extra land around Mullets has proven to be a golden egg for all to enjoy.

The gents at Full Court Press own Mullets and many other successful and bike-friendly businesses such as el Bait Shop, High Life Lounge, Royal Mile, Red Monk, Hessen Haus, Fongs Pizza, Sbrocco, Shortys and Buzzard Billy's. All of which have their own distinct taste and flair. Mullets is no different. Mullets is:

A riverside roadhouse with a two-tiered patio with great views of downtown, a large outdoor fun area, and all your favorite sports heroes…in Mullet’s. Just across the river from Principal Park, Mullets is sure to be a great place to stop before and after I-Cubs games, in the middle of a long day on the bike trail, and a fun weekend breakfast spot.
