There are more than 30,000 parking spaces in downtown Des
Moines. On Friday, we'll switch up two stalls (about 136
square feet) for a higher use: Homemade ice cream!
Join us outside of Kitchen Collage in the East Village to enjoy pedal-powered homemade ice cream churned with a wind trainer connected to a White Mountain ice cream freezer. (Device designed by Jack Davis, former owner of Irwin's Bicycles.) You want a taste of Velo Vanilla or Chainring Chocolate? This is a collective effort: You may have to
crank for a few minutes! Each batch requires about 15-18
minutes of pedaling.
If the past three years are any indication, we'll have incredible
flavors.
