Decorah's 11-mile paved trail is officially OPEN! On Aug. 7 construction workers finished all major aspects of the trail including the brand new Hwy 9 pedestrian bridge. Barricades and "trail closed" signs were removed and locals and visitors rushed to the trail to make their first official "loop" around the city!
To celebrate the Grand Opening an entire weekend of activities is happening during "Trail Weekend." A
half marathon, 5K run/walk, scavenger hunt, live music, delicious food, a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting event, kids games, prizes and more.
