Charity Ride

Distance - 4, 24, and 62

Riders will have an opportunity to choose the 24 mile course or continue on to ride a 62 mile loop. The 24 mile ride can be ridden as a leisurely familiy style ride or as a competitive time trial race (current male record holder is Rob Kalb at 1:04:11 and female record holder is Rebecca Hart at 1:04:22). A special law enforcement award is given to the 1st law enforcement officer to finish the time trial and current record holder is Officer Andrew Tolle of Galesburg Police Department at 1:04:16. The ride is one of the most beautiful rides offered anywhere in Illinois. It travels through the rich farm land and hills and hollows of southern Hancock and McDonough Counties. The ride is is on very lightly traveled well maintained blacktop and asphalt roads. The ride will take you through the Amish Country of rural Plymouth where the Horse and Buggy are your companions. A four mile kids (ages 5-13) race will take place at 8:a.m. (free to all kids) and the adult ride will start as a mass start as soon as the kid's race is completed.

Route

The 24 mile time trial/family begins and ends in Plymouth in a loop route. The next 38 miles to complete the 62 mile route also begins and ends in Plymouth. The route is laid out in a somewhat figure eight design with you never travelling the same road twice. Two SAG vehicles and 4 SAG stops support the ride and give free drinks, fruit and snacks to all riders. Each adult rider will recieve a $5.00 meal voucher.
