Authorities say a 13-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after hitting a minivan while biking in Buchanan County. It happened just after 3:30pm Sunday in the 2500 block of Quasqueton Diagonal Blvd near Independence.
Investigators say the teen pedaled into the roadway from the ditch, hitting the passenger side of the minivan as it passed by.
No one in the minivan was hurt. The teen was taken to the hospital but they are expected to recover.
