A mother and son riding bikes near Ely were seriously hurt when they were hit by a truck Tuesday night.
It happened just before 8 p.m. in the area of 76th Avenue Drive and C Street SW, near Ely Road.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office said a truck driven by 39-year-old Trevin Greene hit a mother and son as they were riding their bikes.
Heidi Burkle, 45, went to a Cedar Rapids hospital before being flown to UIHC. Her son, 13-year-old Reid Burkle also went to UIHC. They both have serious injuries.
Greene was not hurt.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
