Boone County Veteran’s Affairs Director, Paul Ladd (Colonel, USMC, Retired) was killed in a bicycle car accident north of Boone Monday morning (June 24th).
The Boone County Communications Center received a call about the accident right before 7:00 AM. The call reported a car-bicycle accident with injuries in the 800 block of “P” Avenue north of Boone. Boone Police secured the scene as Boone County Deputies arrived to conduct the investigation. The Boone Fire Department, Fire and Rescue and Boone County Ambulance were also at the scene.
Details of the accident have not been released at this time. According to the report that’s available, Ladd was riding a bicycle and was struck by a car operated by Christopher Fawcett of Stratford.
The report from the Sheriff’s Department indicates the investigation is still taking place and charges are pending.
