LeClaire seeking bikes for Bicycles on Parade

LeCLAIRE, Iowa — As Chicago had Cows on Parade a few years ago, LeClaire will have Bicycles on Parade this summer for RAGBRAI’s arrival and to celebrate Quad-City bicycling activities. The LeClaire Chamber of Commerce is seeking donations of 100 bicycles by April 30. The bicycles may be in any condition and will be painted and decorated to be placed as art downtown to greet LeClaire to greet summer visitors and bicycle riders. The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa will end in LeClaire on Saturday, July 26. Donated bicycles may be dropped off from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday in the fenced area of LeClaire Public Works facility on Iowa Drive behind the Mississippi Valley Welcome Center.
