Howard County gives $30,000 to trail project

CRESCO - The Prairie Springs Recreational Trail's Pave the Way project is picking up speed and funding. The Pave the Way project, established to raise funds to help pay for the paving of the combined Prairie Springs Recreational Trail and the Prairie Farmer Recreational Trail, will be given a total of $30,000 from Howard County. The total will be paid over two years through two payments of $15,000 each. A meeting was also held Monday morning to see if Winneshiek County was also contributing funds to the project. However, no committee members with the results of that meeting could be reached at the time of this edition's printing. Full details of the two counties' commitments will be published in next week's Times Plain Dealer.
