Dennis Mertes, a founding member of Team P.Floyd, died sunday May 28th 2006 of a massive heart attack at age 57 while visiting a Ragbrai friend in Des Moines, he will be missed by his family & the Floyds, a great biker & Floyd forever! As posted in the Lemars Daily Sentinel Tuesday, May 30, 2006 Dennis Mertes, 57, of Kansas City, formerly of Le Mars, died Monday, May 29, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Merrill with the Rev. Daniel Greving officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Le Mars. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday, with a parish rosary at 6:30 p.m. at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars.
