Family oriented

Distance - 3 Routes: 8, 15, or 35 miles

Casual, family oriented one-day ride through scenic "Grant Wood" country. Riders can expect gentle to steeply rolling hills as they pedal in and out of the Wapsipinicon River valley. Complimentary food and drinks and rest areas will be available along the way, with a Community Festival upon return to Central City. Sag wagon will be available.

Route

Maps will be provided to each rider on the morning of registration. The routes will have bold pavement markings as well. Simple route (8 miles) has gently rolling hills. Scenic Route (15 miles) winds through woodlands over moderate hills. Strenuous route (35 miles)meanders along the picturesque Buffalo Ridge before dropping into the Wapsipinicon River valley at scenic Stone City, home of the Grant Wood Artist Colony. The route climbs back up to Iowa farmland before winding back through Waubeek and the wooded bluffs of the poet Jay Sigmund to Central City and the CC Rider Festival.
