Fox Ridge Filth Ride; A Gravel & Dirt Road Expedition by Bicycle

Saturday, June 18, 2022 @ 8AM- 40,62,or 100 Miles

Starts/Ends at Fox Ridge Winery, located northwest of Traer, Iowa. (1465 L Ave, Traer).

*Park in the large mowed lot across the road from the winery - look for the old silo*

Making a return in 2022 with new routes on some of the foxiest & filthiest roads this area has to offer (the Fox needed to take last year off so his legs could fully recover from the hills in those last 5 miles of the 2020 FRFR).  All gravel riders are welcome; choose the adventure that best suits the distance you’re looking for.  A new distance option this year of 100 miles is available for those that like to make poor life choices.  Route files for each distance found linked below and cue sheets found here (print your own if wanted).

40 Mile Fiesta of Filth- Includes 13 miles B roads and food/drink options at mile 31 in Traer.

62 Mile / 100K Fiasco of Filth- Includes 18 miles of B roads and food/drink options at mile 47 in Traer.

100 Mile Fear the Filth- Includes 27 miles of B roads and food/drink options at mile 47 in Traer and mile 72 in Reinbeck (route in Reinbeck goes by the Dig Inn and Casey’s, and El Camino Mexican Restaurant is just slightly off-route). This route is the same as the 62 mile route until mile 51, so could make a decision at that point if deciding between the 62 and 100.

Rides semi-officially start at 8:00 AM (but really, if you want to show up earlier or later and ride, that’s fine...it’s not like there’s any official registration or anything).  Fox Ridge Winery is open starting at 11 AM that day and besides wine, also has beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and some meat & cheese sticks, snacks, etc.  They have a large outdoor patio and a big shady lawn, perfect for post-ride snacks or naps.  If you want to stick around (or start your ride later) they also have live music and other food that evening starting at 7PM.  The Fox Ridge Filth Ride is not planned as a hike-a-bike or derailleur-destroyer, so with this number of dirt / B roads...it's a dry weather ride. If it's wet/rainy that day or the few days leading up to it, will likely be postponed to later this year. All are welcome and ride whatever pace and distance you'd like.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU

No registration / No support service / No cost (they’re public roads…you’ve already paid for them…) No nuthin’ except these suggested routes and start time/location. Expect and prepare for a warm/fun/dirty/challenging/scenic ride
