As we approach the Winter months, we can reflect back on the (warmer) seasons and look at all the miles we rode, the sites we saw, the friends we rode with and the friends we met along the way. I know we have had a great year of riding and it will not stop as we are looking forward to more fat bike miles this year. And as you can see, there are still PLENTY of great rides yet this year!The trails systems and the cycling culture just keeps getting better each year! We cannot clap loud enough for the 12 State Recreational projects that were approved this week to the tune of $5.5 million dollars! We also posted a feature on the 45 trail projects that did not get funded. What a list! We know some tough decisions had to be made to only pick 12 out of 57 projects. Either way, Iowa is well on its way to become Trails Capital of the World.We want to call-out a new event in Des Moines on Oct 26th that is powered by BIKEIOWA called Relay Cross. It is a team cyclocross event that can be as serious or as leisurely as you want. The entry fee is a bag of food for the Food Bank of Iowa. We will be there from 10 am to 2 pm and you don't need to race to donate food to a good cause (hint.. hint..)
