Two communities in Iowa are ranked as some of the best cities in the country for biking.
According to data from PeopleForBikes, Ankeny comes in second place, and Ames is at number eight for bicycling in the medium-sized city category.
Ankeny scored 74/100 while Ames's score was 60/100.
PeopleForBikes annual report identifies the best cities for biking based on the safety, accessibility, and comfort of bike routes to common destinations in the area.
The medium city category looks at cities with populations between 50,000 and 300,000 residents.
Davis, California was ranked the best medium city for bicycling.
