The Ingersoll Avenue streetscape transformation into a pedestrian and bicycle-friendly boulevard will be in the works for the better part of the decade, but some business owners fear the city is leaving out a significant customer base: motorists.
Over the past several years, the city has poured nearly $12 million into the Ingersoll corridor, west of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, with the goal of creating a safer, more accessible environment and luring community members to its vibrant mix of boutiques, restaurants and bars. But amid its revitalization and skyrocketing popularity, some local business owners are growing concerned about the lack of parking spaces and the difficulty navigating a busy street.
