The University Heights Police Department took to social media to defend itself against a bicyclist that claimed to have been pulled over for speeding.

In a post on Facebook, University Heights Police Chief Nate Petersen said the department had received calls and messages about a bicyclist that posted online about being pulled over by a UH officer for"going over 25 on my bike". The post included a selfie of the cyclist with the police lights behind him.

Chief Petersen said the post simply wasn't true. He took to social media to tell people they shouldn't believe everything they see online. In the post, he included the original photo that the cyclist posted with a photo from the officer's dash cam which he said tells the whole story.
