Distance - 47 miles
This 47 mile ride with an optional 10 mile loop promises to be fun, challenging and surrounded by amazing scenery. Starting in Ottumwa at Market on Main the ride will take you across the Des Moines River via the Ottumwa Trails system. (All paved) You'll enjoy a section of trail then turn onto road where you twist and turn your way to Blakesburg. In Blakesburg the ride will take a turn south where sweeping vistas will take your breath away (in more than one way). From Blakesburg the ride will continue to Unionville where it will turn east. You can chose to ride a few additional miles by taking our optional loop through Wapello State Park. The park offers views and activities for the whole family. Heck - you might even want to jump in the lake to cool off!! If the extra 10 miles is too much, keep pedaling towards Drakesville. In Drakesville, you'll enjoy sharing the road with Amish buggies. Turn south toward Highway 2 and you're almost done! Drakesville to Bloomfield is the final leg. In Bloomfield you'll be able to crash ini the courthouse lawn and enjoy entertainment brought to you by Bloomfield Main Street. Transportation back to Ottumwa will be provided..
