This section was long overdue for being rebuilt. I rode it the weekend before it closed for one last very bumpy and uneven ride. I look forward to it being reopened for a test ride.

The section in Urbandale along North Walnut Creek between Hickman and 86th is now closed for several weeks for resurfacing. Replacing the asphalt with concrete. Here is a link to the article in the Des Moines Register several weeks ago: http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/local/urbandale/2014/06/10/colby-woods-trail-concrete-surface/10229213/

I rode under the Grand Ave Bridge on Saturday, but it looks like the guardrails along the creek side are not yet up. It might be closed during construction hours and open on the weekend. Be aware that the North Walnut Creek section of the trail from Hickman to 86th will be closed from June 30 - August 31 while they replace the asphalt with concrete. It needs it.

I guess it's just closed under the Grand Ave Bridge. Does anyone know how long this is supposed to be closed?

Does anyone know how long the Walnut Creek trail under 235 will be closed?
