COMMUTER BUDDY
Become a Big Wheel with Bike to Work Week!
Each of the first 25 Commuter Buddies to sign up five first-time commuters win a
commemorative Park Tool Pizza Cutter ($20 value) and free 10" signature pizza
($9-$10 value) from Frank's Pizza, just east of the Drake University campus in
Des Moines.
Do we have your attention yet? The top Bike to Work Week recruiter
wins a night's stay ($75 value) at the
Prairie View Bed & Breakfast, located two miles west of Panora (just
off the Raccoon River Valley Trail). Bike-friendly owners Karen and Jim Sievers
will honor your award until May 1, 2010 (except for holiday weekends).
Encourage your recruits by having them attend one of our Confident Cycling Courses - plan to come with them if you can. You
may want to help them with developing their route from home to the office and
show them some techniques for carrying their stuff. If they want to ride with a
group, encourage them to look up staging locations.
Help us build awareness for first-time commuters - sign up to be a Commuter Buddy when you
register!
Other types of assistance you can give to
your recruits include:
- Assistance in finding the safest and fastest commute routes
- The best commuter clothing and tips for making the ride easier
- How to repair/change a tire
- Provide motivation to ride rather than drive
Be sure to have your recruits write in your name when they register.
