Dickinson County Trails have been awarded a $75,000 grant from the Okoboji Foundation to assist in the development of a phase of the rail trail between Spirit Lake and Highway 86.

The foundation has had a long history with Dickinson County Trails, having granted more than $330,000 to the organization over the years.

Trails Director Erin Reed says the rail trail, known as “Tatonka Ska Trace”, will provide flat grades, few interruptions and beautiful views of natural areas, including the Little Sioux River area.
