540 Sign Petition to Oppose Bike Bans

The Iowa Bicycle Coalition has launched a counter petition at the http://www.IowaBicycleCoalition.org website. The petition asks the undersigned to oppose banning bicycles from Iowa roads. In one day, 540 people signed the opposition petition. The counter petition is in response the petition asking the legislature to ban bicycles from farm to market roadways. The Citizens for Safety Coalition of Iowa produced the first petition which garnered about 600 signatures in over two weeks. The petition will remain online for several weeks since the legislative session will not begin until January. Until then, people supporting bicycling are asked to write letters to the editors of their local newspapers. We need to continue show a strong voice in support of bicycling.
