A RAGBRAI participant who went missing Wednesday has been found safe.
Flags were raised on Facebook Wednesday night when RAGBRAI veteran Dennis Watson did not return to the bus or to the host house in the overnight town, Des Moines. Watson, who has completed more than 40 of the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, typically gets on the road early and is usually the first to reach the team's bus, according to the post.
With a heat index reaching 105 degrees Wednesday, his teammates called hospitals and local law enforcement between Ames and Des Moines in the hopes of finding him.
