PROFILE - SEPTEMBER 2006
Posted Aug 31, 2006

All9Yards.com Cycling Team
BIKEIOWA is proud to present the ninth profile for 2006. Each profile will consist of fifteen base questions and answers with a gallery of pictures. This month's profile features the All9Yards.com Cycling Team
Home Turf
The international racing headquarters is Altoona, Iowa with team members scattered across the metro Des Moines area, Iowa City/ Cedar Rapids area and Madison, Wisconsin.
The Scoop
We are proud to have Iowa's only international race team. Our elite team has raced in Puerto Rico the past two years and also fielded a tough squad at the Nature Valley Grand Prix NRC event in Minnesota. The team is central Iowa's largest event promoter with over 15 events on the schedule in 2006 including the all new (and wildly popular) Waterworks Park Fitness Festival. We promote road, circuit, time trial and cyclocross events.
Who's Who
Lane Anderson, President of All9Yards.com is the team captain. Lane is a Category 2 and a tough competitor throughout the season in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri races, specializing in insanely tough breakaways. Chad Vandelune, is the resident Category 2 sprinter, and pulls in great results when the pack is fighting for the first to the line. He scored a top pack finish at the Quad Cities Criterium in 2005. Lee Venteicher is a legendary Cat 1 on the Iowa Pro 1/2 racing scene. Attacking early and often throughout races, scoring many victories in the Iowa races. He's been the Cat 1/2 Iowa Rider of the year for the past 2 seasons and will probably repeat this season. Jim Holmes is our fearless Category 1 cyclocross and road racer. Like Lane, he enjoys breaking wind and scoring the tough victories throughout the midwest. Jim is also a national-level cyclocross racer. Kurt Refsneider is our secret Category 2 cyclocross and road racing weapon. He is just super strong and a great asset to have when all the other riders are marked. He is moving to the big leagues in Colorado this fall. Look for him on the national cyclocross circuit, too.
Recent News
The elite team consisting of Lane Anderson, Chad Vandelune and stagiare riders Ralph Henderson and Andy Cornelison are racing in Puerto Rico in late-August. The team is preparing for hosting the fall Central Iowa Cyclocross Series including the 2006 Iowa State Cyclocross Championship on Sunday, October 29 in Newton, IA.
