Party Ride

Distance - 12 to 40 miles round trip depending on route you choose

The ride is sponsored by New Belgium Brewing the makers of FAT TIRE BEER and el Bait Shop.

New Belgium will be giving away one of their signature fat tire cruisers at the "FAT TIRE FUN RIDE FINALE", the last of the ride series in October. You must go on one of the rides during the series to register to win. TO WIN THE FAT TIRE CRUISER YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT THE OCTOBER RIDE AND SORRY THE PREVIOUS YEAR'S WINNER IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO WIN.

Each ride will have a different route with different bars and entertainment, please check the ride calendar. All ride dates and routes are subject to change due to weather and trail conditions.

Route

This month's ride will offer 2 destinations for your riding pleasure.

From el Bait Shop we'll head to Saint's Pub & Patio in Beaverdale. If time allows, we may stop at the Clipper in Ankeny, and then onward to To Ankeny Unplugged a few blocks away.

We will depart from El Bait Shop at 1:00 pm and ride through Des Moines streets to Beaverdale for a cold one at Saint's Pub and Patio. The 'Fun Ride' continues to Ankeny for "Ankeny Unplugged". We'll ride down the inter-urban trail to the Neal Smith Trail to the new Ankeny Oralabor Connector Trail on our way. There are new signs for the Oralabor connector trail this year!

You are on your own to get back as some folks won't want to stay for all the music. Bring lights if you are staying for the whole thing!

BIKEIOWA will have a booth again thia year at Ankeny Unplugged. We'll be selling t-shirts, caps, and jerseys. Everyone loved the bike limbo last year so we are doing it again!

Music Lineup:

This is the rock, blues, and acoustic radness you will see this week:

1. 5:00 pm - Local music hero James Biehn starts the night with his mastery on guitar and thoughtful songwriting.
2. 6:00 pm - MINT from right here in Des Moines just opened for Weezer; you will soon see why they were chosen.
3. 7:00 pm - Wisconsin based and critically acclaimed The Brothers Burn Mountain bring some blues-rock fusion AU hasn’t seen yet.
   
4. 8:00 pm - Headliner Fierce Bad Rabbit (8pm) is coming to us all the way from Colorado. Check out their stuff — it’s addictive!
