Introducing the 2024 FORC Race Series!
Join FORC at Sylvan Island Stampede will be the 1st of the 3 part series. With Illiniwek Abermintion on May 4th and FORC-Side Thrill Ride at Sunderbruch Park on June 2 (Aberm and FSTR registration to be posted at a later date)
Where else can you ride tight, and twisty island singletrack. Rocks, roots, concrete rubble, bricks, old building foundations, and slag debris will be the norm for most trails on the island. There isn't much elevation change but lots of tight corners meaning short punchy efforts. Do your interval training! Preriding the course is recommended to get familiar with passing areas (there aren't many).
**We're changing the categories up so pay close attention to the Time and Race:
9:00am - Long XC race will be 5 laps ~21 miles (for riders that are Expert, Open and strong Sport)
12:00noon - Junior and Beginner race will be 2 laps ~ 8+ miles (Junior and Novice riders)
2:00pm - Short XC race will be 3 Laps ~ 12.5 miles (for strong Novice and Sport riders that want to push a little faster)
*NOTE - this is NOT a USAC sanctioned event and NO USAC license is needed.
**No rain date for this event as the island has sandy and rocky soil and can take significate rain.
