If you care about the future of the Great Western Trail, you should attend this meeting.

We need to show that there is overwhelming public demand that the Great Western Trail and it's experience should NOT be altered by the Veterans Parkway expansion project.

Bonus Points if you are a West Des Moines Resident.

The Warren County Conservation Board meeting was so full that cyclists sat on the floor in front of an behind the Board Tables. It was a GREAT showing. Let's do it again on Jan 4th!!!

IF YOU live in West Des Moines PLEASE identify your ward and contact your city official. YOU are a tax payer and deserve that you voice be heard. WDM Mayor and City Council Contacts and WDM City Wards.

IF YOU live in Polk, Warren or Dallas Counties, you can still contact the WDM Mayor and City Council Contacts as this project affects you as a taxpayer and a cyclist as well.

LETTER SENT TO RESIDENTS
December 21, 2016

Dear Resident,

The City of West Des Moines would like to invite you to a public meeting regarding the alignment of Veterans Parkway adjacent to your property.

The meeting will be held at the following time and location:Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 5:30 PM
West Des Moines City Hall
Council Chambers
4200 Mills Civic Parkway

Concerns relating to how the current proposed Veterans Parkway alignment affects the Great Western Trail have been received by the City.  In response to the concerns, the City worked with Warren County Conservation to create alternate alignments.  The alignments were presented to the Warren County Conservation Board at their regular meeting on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 for public input.

The purpose of the public meeting is to obtain input from the property owners on the alternatives that were presented to the Warren County Conservation Board.

The City will then provide this input to Warren County, Warren County Conservation, and the West Des Moines City Council to determine the most reasonable alignment for all parties.

If you are unable to attend the meeting in person, please feel free to provide your input to Duane Wittstock or Brian Hemesath.  Contact information is below:
