Elmo's Bar & Grill, which used to be Whos Lounge, in Madrid is 1 block south of the High Trestle Trail on Highway 17. They have remodeled most of the inside of the building including a full kitchen. They only have 6 sandwiches and 6 appetizers right now but they're adding to the menu all the time. They run daily lunch specials from catfish to spagetti. Next time your in town riding the trail it's definitely worth a stop in to check things out and try one of their tasty sandwiches.

The Elmo

I've eaten up there a few times and their signature sandwich, The Elmo, is one of the tastiest sandwiches I've ever had. They start with 2 grilled cheese sandwiches on texas toast for the bun, then add 2 eggs, bacon, and fried bologna juiced up with a yellow mustard and onion sauce. Served with chips and a pickle for $6.50.

I've also had the Coney Chili Dog which is made from a historic coney chili recipe. Next on my list is to try the Grazino Grinder or or the burger bar.
