We're getting a look at the new official logo for Sioux City’s 50th anniversary of hosting the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI).
The logo features Sioux City's clock tower, Grandview Park Band Shell, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino's guitar, the Ho-Chunk Center and the iconic Sergeant Floyd Monument with the slogan, "You never forget your first ride."
The logo image and slogan were selected by local residents on the RAGBRAI publicity committee, based on the history of the event which first started from Sioux City in August 1973. Sioux City graphic designer Jeff Gordon chose colors and symbols to convey the history of the 1970s.
