By BikeRadar The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Cannondale, has announced a product safety recall of 150 American-made 2008 Scalpel mountain bikes sold in the US between October to December 2007, based on six reports of frames breaking. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. The frame can break while in use, causing the rider to lose control and suffer injuries from a fall or collision. Consumers should contact Cannondale or an authorized dealer for a free replacement frame. Consumers have been directly notified. Only certain serial numbers are affected.
