The Sakari Race Team put on a hellava FUN Race in Altoona this past weekend.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! The Friday night race was well attended by racers and spectators as the heat and humid air made for stifling conditions as racers made their way around the course drenched in sweat.
Rain came in the wee early morning hours on Saturday making the race course SUPER-FUN for some and SUPER-SLICK for others. The course was very greasy in the morning and was starting to dry out around noon. Racers and their rigs were still coming across the finish line speckled with mud. Everyone likes to get Dirty... right ?!?
The Bigger-than-Life BERM, the "whoopdies" and the stream/ditch crossing were nice additions to the course this year and made a great place for spectators to hang out and take photos.
KUDOS to Kurt Hantelmann, Don Lund, Jason Simpson and the whole Sakari Race Team, their volunteers and the City of Altoona for hosting this two day event!
