Distance - 30 or 50 miles
SIANOMO will take an all-Iowa route again this year. The ride starts at the Gateway Welcome Center at Exit 4, Interstate 35, and travels over the 5 1/2-mile concrete Lamoni Recreational Trail and off into the hills. Minimal auto traffic in back country area, but be sure to wave when passing Amish buggies. Several SAG stops with refreshments. Longer run has challenging hills for those who dare. All roads lead back to the Welcome Center for Maid-Rites and complimentary handmade Amish baskets.
Route
5 1/2 miles of cement-surfaced trail through a forested canopy and around a scenic local lake--followed by one of the following two routes.
(Route #1) After completing Trail, riders will make a 30-mile hard-surface loop through scenic Amish countryside to return to the Welcome Center.
(Route #2) After completing Trail, riders will make a 50-mile hard-surface loop through scenic Amish countryside over some moderately challenging hills in Decatur and Ringgold Counties to return to the Welcome Center for Maid-Rites and complimentary Amish baskets.
