There is a new push to update distracted driving laws in Iowa.
The push comes after a summer of serious crashes involving bicyclists.
While it's illegal to text and drive in Iowa, you can still use your phone for other things while driving, like taking a call. The Iowa Bicycle Coalition said it wants the law to require hands-free or voice-activated use while driving.
"A driver was looking at a notification for a Facebook boat for sale and didn't even know he hit a person.
