The City of Ankeny will start construction on the High Trestle Trail Extension project on Tuesday evening, Aug. 24, 2021, weather permitting. Work includes extending the High Trestle Trail from SE Magazine Road to SE Oralabor Road. A pedestrian bridge will also be constructed over SE Oralabor Road to provide a safe and direct connection from the High Trestle Trail to the Gay Lea Wilson and Oralabor Gateway trails.
During the construction, the Oralabor Gateway Trail will be closed on Oralabor Road from SE Peach Tree Drive to SE Rio Drive. The Gay Lea Wilson Trail will be closed at SE Oralabor Road to the Springwood neighborhood connection at SE Primrose Drive. There will also be intermittent lane restrictions on SE Oralabor Road near the construction site.
