RAGBRAI, the The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, takes place Sunday, July 25th through Saturday, July 31st.

Friday, July 30th, and Saturday, bicycle riders will be just north of the Quad Cities. Friday evening, riders will stop in DeWitt. Saturday, riders will dip their tires into the Mississippi River in Clinton.

Tuesday, July 13th, the Clinton Convention & Visitor's Bureau Director Lesley Webster and The Sawmill Museum Executive Director Matthew Parbs joined us live to tell us how the event will benefit their city and what you can expect that Saturday.

Webster and Parbs joined us during the second half hour of our 11 a.m. show. Webster says crews will bring in the bicycle riders to three main areas of their downtown.

"We're trying to make sure we impact as many businesses as possible in a positive way," Webster said Tuesday. "They have opportunities for vendors for sponsorship."

Parbs say this event is a great opportunity for Clinton.

"We know that they're going to dip their tires, and most of them are going to leave, but we have great pride in our riverfront," Parbs said. "Now once you see our riverfront, you're definitely going to want to come back and spend a weekend or a week doing all that there is."
