For the 2021 RAGBRAI's route through Cherokee Sunday, July 25, riders will be coming into town from the west on C38, through Main Street, and depart up East Hill onto Highway 3.

As a Meeting Town, Cherokee can expect many hungry and thirsty riders to dolly down here for a respite and sample the fares of intrepid vendors spread out along Main Street and adjacent streets offering food, beverages, cool desserts, souvenirs, etc.

An information booth manned by informed locals, City maps, and a medical tent will also be sought by riders. Support vehicles arriving from the north on Highway 59 must also be accounted for with parking options, maps and local information.

The City plans on having a parking ban on Main Street beginning at 3:00PM Saturday, July 24th through July 25th that will end as soon as the riders are out of town (around 3:30PM on Sunday, July 25th).

Businesses on Main Street may continue to be open Sunday, however, no parking will be allowed on Main Street and some adjoining streets that day. A map of the street closure will be presented at a later date.
