RAGBRAI is less than two months away and preparations for the ride and local overnight stops are continuing.

Waterloo Volunteers Needed

Experience Waterloo is asking for volunteers to help during Waterloo's overnight stop on Wednesday, July 28. But volunteers will be needed on the 27th, 28th, and 29th.

  • On Tuesday, July 27: People needed to help to set-up the event space and campground areas
  • On Wednesday, July 28 (day of the event): Help is needed with information booths, beer garden, campground hosts, and more.
  • On Thursday, July 29: Tear down and clean-up help will be needed as cyclists leave Waterloo.

“The number one thing RAGBRAI riders say they love about Iowa is the hospitality of our communities," Experience Waterloo Executive Director Tavis Hall said. "The Cedar Valley has shown the enthusiasm they have for helping with numerous community events, and we are inviting people to be a part the fun of RAGBRAI.”

All volunteers will receive a T-shirt and you can sign to volunteer up HERE.

RAGBRAI Pre-Ride

All next week from June 5-12, a team of knowledgeable cyclists will be biking the RAGBRAI route, examining and inspecting every mile.

This is the 16th consecutive year that the pre-ride team will ride the entire route 50 days before the event. The staff that participates in the ride will be reporting on road conditions and looking at traffic patterns. They'll be riding all of next week on the same days of the week that the riders will be during RAGBRAI.

The staff will also be writing daily updates for the RAGBRAI website, pointing out places of interest and the best spots to visit along the ride.
